Prof. Bobomurat Ahmedov

Bobomurat Ahmedov is Head of the Theoretical Astrophysics Department at the Ulugh Beg Astronomical Institute of the Uzbek Academy of Sciences in Tashkent and a Full Professor at the National University of Uzbekistan. He received his PhD in 1993 from the Institute of Nuclear Physics in Tashkent and his Doctor of Sciences degree in 2001 from the National University of Uzbekistan.

He leads the theoretical astrophysics group specialized in general relativity and relativistic astrophysics, with research focused on the electrodynamics of pulsars and neutron stars, black hole physics, and tests of gravity. He is a Fellow of The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) and of the Islamic World Academy of Sciences (IAS), Editor-in-Chief of the Uzbek Journal of Physics, and a recipient of the Uzbekistan State Order "Glory of Labor".
