Chingis Tukenovich Omarov is Director of the Fesenkov Astrophysical Institute (FAI) in Almaty, Kazakhstan. He graduated with honors from al-Farabi Kazakh National University in 1994 in mechanics and applied mathematics, and defended his PhD in astrophysics and radio astronomy in 1999.
His scientific interests lie in celestial mechanics, stellar dynamics, and large-scale computational simulations of stellar systems, with active collaborations under Kazakhstan-Germany and Kazakhstan-China research programs. He serves as Vice President of the Silk Road Alliance for Astronomical Research and Education and was awarded the Order of Kurmet for his contributions to science.
