Prof. Thijs Kouwenhoven

M.B.N. (Thijs) Kouwenhoven is a Senior Associate Professor of Astrophysics at Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) in Suzhou, China.

His research focuses on computational astrophysics, with primary interests in planetary system dynamics, few-body gravitational interactions, star formation, and the dynamical evolution of star clusters. Before joining XJTLU, he served as a Bairen (Hundred Talents Program) Research Professor in Astrophysics at the Kavli Institute for Astronomy and Astrophysics at Peking University from 2009 to 2016 and as Head of the Physics Division at XJTLU from 2018 to 2019.
