Zhongmu Li is an astronomer at the Institute for Astronomy and History of Science and Technology at Dali University in Yunnan, China.
His research focuses on stellar population synthesis, particularly methods to determine the ages and metallicities of star clusters and distant galaxies using broad-band colors, with emphasis on the role of binary stars and rotating stars. He has contributed to the discovery and characterization of Galactic open clusters with extended main-sequence turnoffs and has produced large catalogs of Galactic disk star clusters identified in Gaia data.
